Rana Bishara

Installation artist, painter, graphic artist, photographer and performing artist, born in Tarsheha village -Galilee, northern Palestine, 1971.

Bishara earned her BFA in Painting major, Women studies and philosophy minor, Haifa University 1993 and her, MFA Painting, Savannah Collage of Art and Design, Savannah G.A, USA, 2003 on a Fulbright scholarship.

 

1999 Bishara war trained for graphic art and painting by world famous artist Marwan Kassab Bachi at the Summer Academy at Darat al Funun- Khalid Shoman foundation, Amman Jordan.

 

She exhibited widely in solo and group shows locally and internationally in the Middle East, Europe and USA. Rana was awarded many scholarships, grants and artist residencies since early 90’s.

2004 - Xanadu artist in residency, (Xanadu, Un- Gallery, artist run space), New York, USA.

2001-2003 – Fulbright Scholarship, MFA Painting, Savannah College of Art and Design.

1999 - Darat Al-Funun Summer Academy, Amman, Jordan.

1996 - Artist in residence, sponsored by: Pro Helvetia & Gastatelier Krone Aarau, Switzerland.

1996 - Art Omi International Artist’s Colony, artist in residency program, New York, USA.
