Born in 1998, Bseiso is a Palestinian Jordanian visual artist based in Amman, Jordan who’s playful, color-driven paintings celebrate cultural heritage through traditional symbols and objects. Bseiso blends 2D and 3D elements, creating chaotic large-scale scenes that extend beyond the conventional boundaries of the canvas, often spilling onto the floor and forming playful, set-like environments. Her work explores the intersections of cultural identity, heritage, and socio-political themes within the South West Asian North African (SWANA) region. Rooted in storytelling, she addresses subjects such as imperialism, patriarchy, and capitalism. These themes are camouflaged with a playful aesthetic, creating a space where the viewer’s understanding of the work mirrors Bseisos own process of creating it, where meaning is gradually revealed through continuous questioning and observation.

Bseiso earned a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2016 and has exhibited work in prestigious venues including the Javits Centre, Eric Firestone Gallery, and Sungkok Art Museum. Exhibitions include Summer in The City at Pleiades Gallery, Art from The Pandemic at 6ftap’Art Show, and Paroxysm at West Beth Gallery in New York, as well as My Red Your Blue at Sungkok Art Museum in Korea and Time Traveling at Abul Honda Gallery in Jordan. Most recently, Bseiso completed a residency at OKA in Dubai, which concluded with a solo exhibition, and the Artist Residencies Enschede (ARE) in The Netherlands for a three-month program. Bseiso’s background in set design strongly influences the spatial structure and layered composition of the work. Bseiso has designed sets for Mina Mir’s All Tru-ish, featured at the Cairo and Cannes Film Festivals, and art-directed Dominica Garcia’s Ceviche, which premiered at the New York Latino and Atlanta Film Festivals.
