"Meditations" by Nawal Abdallah: Meditations
Past exhibition
The art work of Nawal Abdallah is a sustained meditation in the Jordanian horizon across the mountains, sea, valleys and deserts. It’s inspired by her lifelong journeys across the typography of the place and it’s emotional and spiritual energies. Nawal leaves her unique impact as an artist with a 40-year repertoire, who belongs to the pioneer generation of fine artists in Jordan. In her 10th personal exhibition Nawal spreads a spacious flow of meditations that carry the energy of silence anchored in a state of clarity and awakening. The bountiful colors become a deep internal self-reflection in search of the intimate and the humane.

The unfamiliar, yet sometimes very familiar visions that come up unconsciously through my colors and splashes of paint are somehow prophetic of my life. The human spirit is either nourished or crushed by what happens around us in the world, whether in politics, religion, science or in everyday happenings and encounters. I am always searching to find an art form that expresses my personal vision of the spiritual. I would like my paintings to speak to the soul."
