Art Dubai 2016
Modern Mar 16 - 19, 2016In a world tormented by political, social and sectarian conflicts where compassion for the other is constantly being erased, to be replaced by hatred and bitter struggle, the last resort for those who seek peace is to find comfort in culture. When nations, countries and populations learn to accept cultural diversity as a unifying means that bond together various civilizations as well as individuals then our planet will become a place where love, acceptance and beauty can once more bind at least part of humanity together. Since its inception in 2008, Wadi Finan Gallery has played an important role in bringing together young talent, mostly from the Arab World. The founder of the Gallery, Suha Lallas, in her continuous attempt to nurture budding talent, has saved no effort in discovering and promoting young artists as well as exposing what the previous generations have done to cultivate and promote artistic expression in the Arab world. For Lallas, to participate in the tenth edition of Art Dubai is certainly a plus for both sides: Wadi Finan Gallery is crossing borders into new international turf while for the first time, Art Dubai is hosting a Jordanian gallery. I am certain that the two sides will reap the fruits of this step forward. My very best wishes go to Suha Lallas knowing that with her perseverance she will reach new heights and extend to embrace yet undiscovered land. H.R.H. Princess Wijdan F. Al-Hashemi, Phd.
