Wadi Finan Art Gallery proposes to participate in the Focus section of the Abu Dhabi Art 2023 with a selection of works by the highly respected artists: Souad Mardam Bey, Nawal Abdallah, Wijdan, Ufemia Rizk and Hind Nasser.
Mardam Bey’s canvases are brimming with undercurrents of emotion; layers of color and intricate details which adorn her subjects. Who are held captive to her use of overpowering colors and entrancing techniques.
Abdallah’s are a sustained meditation in the Jordanian horizon across the mountains, sea, valleys and deserts. It’s inspired by her lifelong journeys across the typography of the place and it’s emotional and spiritual energies.
Hind liberated from dominant art trends in cultural capitals, her work has been one in continuous movement filled with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Far from being static or satisfied with itself or its own autonomy.
Rizk’s art is the creation of an inner world to penetrate the mysteries of the universe. Concentrate mainly on geometric abstractions and reflect a necessity of capturing and expressing a vision of cosmic forces.
Wijdan, a painter and sculptor, she is known for reviving the traditions of Islamic art, which she then melds with Western motifs or touches other contemporary concepts. Her often-abstract paintings are characterized by calligraphic elements, set against a backdrop created in delicate, luminous colors.
